MASALA SODA

Popular roadside appetizer.

Ingredients
Soda, chilled 800 millilitres
Kokum syrup 6 tablespoons
Rock salt (sendha namak) 1/2 tablespoon
Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
Black peppercorns, crushed 5-6
Fresh mint leaves, torn 10-12
Crushed ice , to serve
Method
Combine kokum sherbet, rock salt, lemon juice and crushed black peppercorns in a glass jug and stir to mix well.Add soda, stir well, adjust seasoning and pour into individual tall glasses over crushed ice and mint leaves. Serve immediately.
